Corporate blogs crucial in business promotion

Corporate blogs can help businesses to promote themselves and engage with customers, according to a new survey.

Recent research by Percussion Software revealed that blogs play a critical role in helping companies create compelling content for engaging consumers.

But their analysis showed that few companies are making use of this tool.

Aaron Dun, vice-president of marketing and strategy at Percussion Software said: “With the recent explosion of social and mobile – creating multiple channels of content and communication – companies have been forced to redefine the way they interact and engage with their customers online.

“Research shows that blogs play a critical role in helping companies create compelling content for engaging constituents, and guiding them into taking action that drives measurable results for the business.”

Despite blogs being a useful tool which can form part of a positive and engaging content marketing strategy, only 20.5 per cent of over 800 mid-market technology businesses had a corporate blog.

Out of this percentage, only 73.9 per cent updated their blog regularly and had uploaded new content in the previous month.
